How many caves are on Lost Island Ark? ›

There are about 17 caves present on the Lost Island map. 14 are on the main island, while the other 3 are on the Scorched Earth biome. A few of the best caves to explore are, Shipwreck Cave - 58.8, 72.3.

The Lower South Cave is one of the easiest caves on the island, though it is still more dangerous than anything in the nearby surface environment. It houses the Artifact of the Hunter.

Different dinosaurs have specific advantages in different caves, such as the Otter providing insulation and defense in the North-West Cave. The Baryonyx is considered the superior caving dino due to its ability to traverse land and water, heal by eating fish, and navigate challenging layouts.

Some caves, like the Snow Cave and The Caverns of Lost Hope, are extremely difficult and require advanced gear, high-level mounts like Basilosaurus and Yutyrannus, and careful planning to overcome the strong and high-level creatures within.

Unique Lost Island monsters

As the first official community map, ARK Lost Island offers three different, unique monsters that can't be found anywhere else – the Amargasaurus, Dinopithecus and Sinomacrops. All three monsters are completely different in design, strengths, weaknesses and benefits.

Main Storyline Progression

On The Island, there are four Arenas for fighting the game's Bosses: Broodmother Lysrix, Megapithecus, Dragon, and finally the Overseer.

Secret of the Lost Cavern is set in the Paleolithic period around 15,000 B.C. The game follows Arok, a young hunter who discovers a cavern marked with a strange symbol. It reminds him of a charismatic traveler, Klem, who ventured through the lands of his clan a few years before.

Dinopithecus King is the boss dino of ARK Lost Island DLC. Available in Alpha, Beta, and Gamma versions, this is the largest variant of Dinopithecus. It is even larger than Megapithecus. It goes without saying that this boss dino is the strongest creature in ARK Lost Island.

Lost Island is crawling with Stegosaurus, which can be hard to deal with for the beginning. Pegomastax and Tek Stryder cannot harvest the new bushes on this map rendering them useless for PvE. Lost Island has the biggest ammount of Peninsulas of all ark maps (6 in total).

The Titanosaur (tye-TAN-uh-SAWR) is one of the Creatures in ARK: Survival Evolved. It is one of the largest creature in the game (only to be beaten by the Titans, Rockwell, and the Alpha Deathworm), towering over even the Brontosaurus and the Giganotosaurus.

What is the best boss dino in Ark Lost Island? ›

The Mammoth, Woolly Rhino, Therizinosaur, and Megatherium are recommended dinosaurs to use in boss fights, each with unique abilities and strengths. The Yutyrannus is considered one of the best dinosaurs for boss fights due to its powerful damage boost and versatility in all arenas.

We arrive at the piece de resistance: Aberration, the undisputed champion of ARK's most challenging maps, where immediately apparent is the lack of natural light, additionally, it is replaced by an eerie green glow emitted by peculiar flora. Aberration demands exceptional caution.

Hide armor is better for cave exploration but decreases heat resistance. SCUBA armor is useful for underwater exploration but offers little protection. Fur armor is great for cold resistance but is less effective in warmer climates.

The Giganotosaurus is the most powerful dinosaur on The Island and in all of Ascended currently.

There are two types of caves that can be found in ARK: Progression Caves and Resources Caves, the latter caves being found underwater on The Island and most regions of Ragnarok. Some are easy to explore, others extremely difficult.

Artifacts are found in caves on the Arks. There are currently 10 different artifacts found on The Island and The Center and 3 different artifacts found on Scorched Earth.

The map is 150 square kilometers big.
